Q: What is Cell-Loc Location Technologies' (CLTI) business?

CLTI is the developer of network-based wireless location technology that enables location-based services (LBS) such as fleet tracking, asset tracking, people find, inventory find, etc.

Q: How does CLTI's technology work?

CLTI's method of wireless location is hyperbolic multilateration based on time difference of arrival (TDOA). We "listen" to the radio frequency (RF) activity in an area and measure the infinitesimal time difference of signals reaching our "listening posts." For more details, visit our HOW - Technology page.

Q: Does CLTI locate cell phones?

CLTI is currently focused on locating its Cellocate Beacon, a proprietary device specifically designed to be located. In the past, the preceding company, Cell-Loc Inc., spent  several years developing CDMA and AMPS cell phone location technology, and CLTI may focus on that at some time in the future.

Q: What are some applications of Cell-Loc's wireless location technology?

A: Cell-Loc's positioning technology is used in asset protection (car alarms), inventory tracking, traffic monitoring, and fleet tracking.

Q: How long has Cell-Loc been in business?

In 1995, a company called Cell-Loc Inc. was established and co-founded by Drs. Michel Fattouche and Hatim Zaghloul. In 2003, Cell-Loc Inc. underwent a re-organization and its location technology assets were spun-off into a new entity, Cell-Loc Location Technologies Inc. The "old" Cell-Loc Inc. entity is now Capitol Energy Resources Ltd. and trades on the TSX Venture Exchange under the symbol CPX.

Q: Where can I find CLTI's stock?

As a publicly traded company, CLTI shares trade on the TSX Venture Exchange (TSX-V) under the symbol LTI

Q: What is the advantage of the Cellocate Beacon wireless location over GPS?

CLTI's Cellocate Beacon technology has several advantages over GPS.

  • Cellocate Beacon network and device have been specifically designed for location applications. GPS is inherently a navigation tool.

  • Low-cost device

  • Low monthly fees (no modem required)

  • No installation required

  • No line-of-sight issues

  • High reliability and availability

Q: What is CLTI's revenue model?

As an intellectual property company, CLTI's revenue model focuses on licensing its technology based on geographic regions and then receiving re-occurring revenues from royalties and working interests in joint ventures that are offering location-based services using CLTI's technology.
